Spay/Neuter Voucher Program

The primary goal of the Humane Society of Uvalde is to reduce the overpopulation of animals in Uvalde.  This goal is being achieved through a vigorous spay and neuter voucher program. 

 

Spay/Neuter Voucher Program-

• Available from the Humane Society of Uvalde Distribution office located behind HEB, on the corner of the Uvalde City Pound.  Office Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10a-2p.
   
• Vouchers are intended to target low income families who otherwise would not be able to afford the service.
  • A voucher will reduce the cost as follows:
    • Female Dog takes off   $90
    • Male Dog takes off       $70
    • Female Cat takes off    $70
    • Male cat takes off        $50

Beginning August 1st, 2010, the following coupons will be available:

35 coupons per month for low income families within the city of Uvalde

4 Coupons per month for low income families within Uvalde County

Requirements: 

Clients must provide HSU with a current Medicaid Letter and Matching ID

1 Coupon per household per month

On the last day of the month, if additional vouchers are available, families are able to receive an additional voucher, not to exceed two vouchers per month.

The voucher is only valid for pets living at the address provided on the Medicaid Letter.

The voucher is a coupon that takes off the amount listed above-any blood work, vaccinations, medications or balance is at the expense of the responsible party.  Please call Southwest TX or Dr. Coble for an estimate on what your fee will be.

Vouchers must be used within 30 days of issue.

Vouchers are distributed on a first come basis.

Vouchers are excepted at both vet clinics in Uvalde.  Please contact each clinic for pricing.

• All vouchers are toward the cost of surgery only. 

   All vaccinations and blood work are done at the owners expense.  Vouchers must be used within 30 days of issue.
