Spay/Neuter Voucher Program

The primary goal of the Humane Society of Uvalde is to reduce the overpopulation of animals in Uvalde.  This goal is being achieved through a vigorous spay and neuter voucher program.  Unfortunately, our funds have depleted quickly due to the great demand for low cost spay/neuter.  As such we are forced to reduce our program as follows:

• Voucher disbursement has been limited from 50 per month to 25 per month
• One coupon per address per month
• The Medicaid program has been suspended.
• We are no longer able to provide coupons outside of the city of Uvalde.

Our program will be able to increase vouchers pending donations from the community.  Please keep us in mind and mark your calendar for our annual fundraiser on February 13, 2010.

 

 

Spay/Neuter Voucher Program-

• Available from the Humane Society of Uvalde Distribution office located behind HEB, on the corner of the Uvalde City Pound.  Office Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10a-2p.
   
• Qualifications:  Vouchers are primarily for the city of Uvalde with a few set aside for our close neighbors.  Vouchers are intended to target low income families who otherwise would not be able to afford the service.
  • A voucher will reduce the cost as follows:
    • Female Dog takes off   $90
    • Male Dog takes off       $70
    • Female Cat takes off    $70
    • Male cat takes off        $50

 

• Medicaid Program:  This program has been suspended due to lack of funding.  For those families who are on Medicaid, a voucher may be available that will cover 100% of the cost of surgery.
  • be prepared to show current letter/card & ID

 

• All vouchers are toward the cost of surgery only.  All vaccinations and blood work are done at the owners expense.  Vouchers must be used within 30 days of issue.
   
• The vouchers are accepted at both Uvalde clinics.
