Danny is a BIG, strong boy! Danny likes to jump and needs an experienced owner and/or someone who is willing to learn how to teach him basic commands. (Please check with the office, regarding basic dog obedience classes offered in the area.) He looks like a hound, but is big, like a Great Dane. Once he learns the basics, he will be an amazing dog to have out and about. He will definitely get second glances! If you like to go walking/jogging by yourself, he would definitely give you a sense of security. Danny's new owner may want to try one of these out: http://www.petexpertise.com/dog-training-article-choosing-a-no-pull-device-from-pet-expertise.html
Dustin has beautiful, soft fur, he is sure to get attention when he is out and about. He is very loving and even wrapped his paws around the photographer's foot, during his photo shoot. He is energetic and would do well in a home with room to exercise and/or an active owner. He would benefit from (and probably excel at) basic obedience classes. Dustin likes to sniff around and could possibly be trained for outdoor activities, such as jogging, retrieving or tracking. http://www.akc.org/events/tracking/getting-started/

Does better with adults. The owner has asked the contact person for assistance in finding a new home for the dog. He needs a home with a high fence. For more information, contact the Toni directly @ (830)261-9253. Please leave a message, if there is no answer.
Redd is new to the program and a little worried about what is going on. However, he has been enjoying hanging out with the other small dogs at Country Tails B&B. After, some play time, he enjoys curling up on his little bed.
Tucker is a bit on the shy side. He is still learning his leash skills, but is getting better. He enjoys when someone sits with him and he perks up to little whistling sounds. During his photo shoot he crawled to the photographer and licked her after some coaxing. At this time,Tucker is timid, but with a little coaxing he will probably become a love bug!
Update: Snowy likes smaller dogs, but is not too happy with the big ones. He likes children, but would do better with an older child or one that understands dogs. Snowy is a beautiful 2 year old, neutered male, poodle. He is a HAPPY fellow! He is energetic and wants to be in the middle of everything. He loves dogs, but to tell you the truth...he doesn't really know how to play with them, yet. He wants to play, but is very excited and jumps and yaps and play-nips. As my dog hid behind me, Snowy did not know why she wouldn't play. Snowy's led a pretty sheltered life with an older owner, who passed away. A relative tried to take Snowy, but they already had 2 dogs and it was too much. So, Snowy has found himself at Country Tails Bed and Bisquit. He thinks it is pretty exciting, but he wants a home of his own. Snowy enjoys attention. I think he will calm down in a quieter, stable environment. I think he might like a pet companion, but there may have to be a little adjustment phase. Snowy is not associated with HSU, he is a courtesy listing only. Please call the staff (Gay) at CTBB for more information: (830)591-3939.
Chelsea is an adventurist! She would love to go to a ranch or farm where she can explore. Wherever, she goes, she would like an active family. She is 3.5 years old, spayed and her shots are current. She was surrendered, due to the family not being able to contain her in their backyard. She was getting out and in harm's way. For her safety, a home with a high fence and/or someone who has the time to give her an active lifestyle. She became acquainted with my dog, but seemed a little hesitant. She might need a little adjustment time to bond with other pets in the home. I think she would love to keep squirrels out of your yard and after a hard day of squirrel chasing she would calm down and love to relax with you. She is a beauty! Chelsea is a courtesy listing ONLY. She is not associated with HSU, please call Gay directly at (830)591-3939.
Leo is very laid back and seems to be able to adapt to any situation. He did well, during his photo shoot. He would make a great addition to any family.
Kitten is a little, bitty, tiny gremlin! She is focusing on gaining weight and growing up to be a big, beautiful cat. If you have some kitty treats, she would like to grow up with you.
Banjo is getting use to the rescue life. As you can see, he gets along well with other dogs.
Jax is heeler smart! He is good on a leash and very attentive. When out on a walk, he listened and turned to noises and movement. If you are looking for a walking companion, Jax is your dog.
6/5 Notes from our photographer: What can I say about Prince? He is such a lovable dog with such a calmness about him. He's not in any hurry to go anywhere....and he's very observant. He could hear his buddies across the street at HSU barking, and he was just watching in their direction. He spotted a young boy on a bike and let out a couple of barks. He's very attentive to his surroundings. He enjoyed having the back of his ears scratched. When I sat down, he climbed up on my lap and wanted to give me sugars. He's a charmer.....I guess you could call him Prince Charming!
Nakita is an active girl. She is still a little confused about the rescue life. These new things like collars and leashes are quite interesting, but seriously, they are kind of strange. She will need someone who is patient and willing to teach her the basics. That lucky someone will be rewarded with a best friend for life!
Lily is a laid back girl, with a gorgeous coat. During her photo shoot, she enjoyed hanging out in the shade. When she heard something, her ears would perk up. She is an easy going girl, with a gorgeous smile. If you would like to watch tv together or sit out on the porch, Lily is the girl for you.
Don't call me a parvo victim. I'm a Parvo SURVIVOR! It was hard, but I am healthy now and ready for an adoptive home!
New rescue, check back for updates.
Licorice is a little bit shy, however he is curious. Note the picture with him reading the chart in the cat room. He might even like to cuddle with you and help you with your next novel!
Tangerine is a bit shy, but LOVES to explore.
This girl is a staff favorite! Coming in at 70 pounds, she is a big girl. Tessa gets along amazingly with dogs of all sizes. She does very well in a crate. She is a talker and loves to roo-roo at you when talking to her. Tessa loves rolling in the grass and playing.
This girl is amazing, she does great with everyone and is so happy. Does wonderful in a crate and is very sweet.
