Sponsorship
For those who want to make a difference but do not have an opening for a new pet, we have added pet sponsorship to our program as a way for you to get involved and make a difference. You can make a one-time donation or subscribe to our sponsorship program for 6, 12, 18 or 24 months. Name: Eli (rescued 11/2009)
Age: Adult approx 2 years
Breed: Mixed Breed (Shepherd X)
Size: Large over 50lbs
Housetrained: on a schedule and doing great!
Likes: Frisbee, playing, people, other dogs...
"I JUMP ON THE TRAMPOLINE!"
" I would make a great ranch dog! I am loyal , high energy and extremely willing to please."
Eli is a gorgeous mixed breed dog. He is a wonderful family companion, would be great for taking on hikes, heading to the river or out camping. He is a very playful and energetic dog who has been working with a border patrol K-9 dog handler learning basic obedience and leash walking. He spends time indoor and out and does great with both. He is currently living in a 4 ft fence and has never made an effort to climb or dig out and is great with small children and has learned appropriate behavior such as staying low and not jumping, but would do best with older children due to his size and energy level. Eli is a great dog-a gorgeous dog-with an equally wonderful disposition. "Check out my youtube video below to see how pretty I am in real life. Although you cant see it here-I really like to play frisbee and am a water finatic"

Breed: Dachshund/Yorkie (DORKIE)
Size: Small about 10lbs
Housetrained: Yes
Likes: Running around the yard chasing things-prefers to be outside, but is housetrained.

Mr. Jenkins is a DORKIE-a cross between a dachshund and yorkie. He is a little hunter like a doxie and adorable like both! Rescue this little designer dog and make him your perfect family pet.
DORKIES RULE!
Name:
Audrey
(rescued 01/2010)
Age: Young Adult (about a year)
Breed: Dachshund/Terrier
Size: Small about 15lbs
Housetrained: Yes
Likes: going for walks to the river, playing with squeeky toys and chewing bones
Dislikes: gets a little nervous sometimes, usually when there is something crazy and out of the ordinary going on.
Audrey has a great high energy, but not out of control. She runs around and plays like crazy and then settles down with her bone. Audrey is very doxie like in reference to her toys-Toys and chewies are a must for this little gal. She is really fun to be around and makes a great inside pet.

Name: Sadie (rescued 01/2010)
Age: Young Adult (about a year)
Breed: Labrador (mix?)
Size: Large-over 50lbs
Housetrained: Great Indoor Manners, spends most time outdoors in her foster home.
Likes: Playing with the other dogs, bones
Dislikes: Small yards!
Sadie is an amazing, Loving dog who is so trainable it hurts! She is very obedient and willing to please. If you are inclined to work with your dog or send them to training, she will impress you very much. She will sit on command in any situation and without hesitation. She will stay when told to stay. She has conquered the issue she entered foster care with which was confinement. She use to go crazy in a yard or dog kennel, now she goes to the kennel on her own. Sadie is a great playmate for the children in her home as well as the other dogs. She goes on walks to the river and is thinking really hard about jumping in, but just has not gotten the nerve yet-her time is coming!
Name: Lenny (rescued 02/2010)
Age: Est DOB March 2009
Breed: Chihuahua Mix (maybe with dachshund?)
Size: Full grown at 10lbs
Housetrained: Crate Trained
Likes: Being Held and cuddled with
Dislikes: Lenny has not been exposed to cats in his foster home so its an unknown.

Ringer (rescued 2/25/2010)
Age: Est DOB March 2008-09 (somewhere between 1-2 yrs old)
Breed: Dalmatian Mix
Size-Large over 50lbs
Ringer is a good boy in need of some basic obedience training. He appears to have had very little interaction with people, but none the less, is VERY affectionate and loving and adores having his head scratched. Ringer is living with three labs and although he doesn't seem "buddy-buddy" with them, he is friendly. He has not gotten to a point of playing with them. Ringer was oblivious to the cats in the home and is trustworthy with small dogs and children. With the guidance of a professional dog trainer, Ringer is learning some basic obedience skills and learning to join the pack.

Name: Mixie (rescued 02/2010)
Age: Est DOB 12 or 01/2010
Breed: Beagle/terrier/Kelpi
Size: 15-30 lbs as an adult dog
Housetrained: No-But working on it-can hold it all night
Likes: Playing with all her friends

Mixie was rescued from the Uvalde pound along with her pal Scruffy. Being such a young adorable puppy, it was hard to believe she was not claimed. But...She is a lucky girl who has a second chance at life and is making the best of it!

Likes: Sleeping in bed with mom and dad! "Move over you guys here I come"
Dislikes: only getting half a treat at a time!
Sonnie won everyone's heart over from day one. He is so passive and easy going, it will amaze you. He is sweet and loving, has learned to sit and walk on a leash AND he is housetrained! All of this and he is still only a pup. Sonnie will make an amazing pet for your family. He is great with small children and other dogs-even cats are okay. If you are in search of a fun loving, easy, laid back companion, look no further-ITS SONNIE!
Name:
Simon
(rescued August 2009 and
rerescued 02/2010)
Age: Est DOB between 03/2009
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair Cat
Housetrained: Yes
Declawed? No
Likes: TONS OF AFFECTION
Simon was originally named Whitey when he was rescued in August of 2009. He was quickly adopted and to our dismay, was found in less than humane condition. Simon was covered in mange and fleas when he returned to our program in February 2010. Despite his obvious physical neglect, Simon remains without hesitation, one of the sweetest and nicest cats you will meet. He is still very young and easily adaptable to any home. He is fine with dogs other cats and children. Simon really deserves the right home this time. If that home is you, what are you waiting for? Get Simon the family he needs right away.
IAMS CAT-Adopt Simon for only $50 and you receive $50 back in Iams cat food! What a deal!

SPONSOR A DOG TODAY!
Since we are a foster home only program, our rescue abilities are limited by two factors-the number of homes we have fostering and how quickly our adoptions take place. We primarily rescue from the Uvalde City Pound where animals are euthanized if not claimed by their owners or rescued by our group. If you are thinking of getting a family pet, please consider rescuing....
...You will be saving two lives-the one you take home today and the one rescued tomorrow.
My name is Murphy and I am not sure how I ended up here, but I sure am lonely. I keep waiting and hoping someone will take me out of this cage because from what I hear, my time is short. Won't someone please rescue me?
This was Murphy before. Here is Murphy now.
Murphy was rescued and has gone to his forever home.
