Adoption Contract

completing the application does not guarantee an
adoption.

Any additional vaccinations or tests will need to be done at my
expense.

In the event I can no longer care for or keep this pet, I will
find a suitable new home or if I am living in or near Uvalde, I agree to
return the pet to the Humane Society of Uvalde.
If I am no longer living in or near Uvalde, I will place the pet
with another reputable adoption agency.

I understand that a new animal may need a period of time to
adjust to the change of environment, people, animals, etc.
I am willing and prepared to give this animal time to adjust to
our family.

I understand the Humane Society of Uvalde has taken measures to
ensure the health of this animal,
however, cannot
guarantee the health of the pet.

I understand the Humane Society of Uvalde has consulted with
veterinarians to aide in labeling the breed and expected size of the pet
however cannot guarantee the breed or size of the pet.

I will not use tethering, chaining or any means of "tying up" my dog as a
means of confinement. I do have a completely fenced yard or containment
that is appropriate for the size and temperament of the dog I am
applying for. (mark “N/A” if
applying for a cat)

visit may be required pre/post adoption. Per the adoption contract, if
the dog is found chained or in less than humane conditions or if the
dog/cats health or needs are not being properly met, the dog/cat will be
removed from the home.

I will have an ID or rabies tag on my pet’s collar to ensure its
safe return in the event the pet is lost or runs away.

adoption fee is considered a donation and is non-refundable.

We will provide you with the pets vet records and rabies tag.
Please also consider bringing an ID tag to place on the pets collar.
All of our pets were rescued from the city pound and it would devastating for them to return there.
